Discover the hidden gem that is the countryside trail connecting Queenstown and Arrowtown. Collect your bikes from our Queenstown Base at the Hilton Jetty and begin your ride by cruising along the waters edge of Lake Wakatipu. The trail then meanders over two historic bridges and through green pastures. Along the way, you'll have the option to detour to visit Lake Hayes.
After a couple of hours of leisurely riding, you'll find yourself in Arrowtown, a romantic village with lots of character and deep history in gold mining. You'll have plenty of time to immerse yourself in the town life and have a bite to eat. You can then either ride back, drop your bikes off at our Arrowtown Base and make your own way back to Queenstown, or for a fee book our shuttle.

One of my Queenstown highlights 100% would do it again. E bikes made the journey enjoyable and easy to take in the scenery..
Arriving at the Tavern, knowing I could have a beer and not ride (or Drive) any further. Really appreciate the advice and help, specially from Meg. Thank you
rented bike from Queenstown . shop was shut due to cover staff off but Matt replied to my call immediately and came all the way from Arrowtown to fit me with a bike .very happy with my moustache e bike and my cycle to Gibbston valley
Awesome ride from the Hilton in QT to Arrowtown and back. The bikes were the best we’ve had around QT, and the service too. Meg was awesome with her care directions and the comfort and maintenance of the bikes. Next time we’re back I’d totally come back to Meg to look after us
What a great enabler an ebike is. I have my own but we rented 3 (including one for the 9 year old) and made a full day of it. Picked up at 9 am with a full set up briefing and instructions on usage (we had one new to the ebike). Cycled out from arrowtown long the 5 bridges
A stunning time of the year to ride from Arrowtown into the Gibbston Valley for lunch and wine tasting. Hiring the e- bikes from Better By Bike made it such a great day. Great bikes and excellent communication from Meg. Highly recommend this company.
One way e bikes from Queenstown Hilton to Gibbston. What a great bike ride. Beautiful day and scenery. Stopped by Hayes estate for caffeine before visiting Gibbston, Gibbston tavern, Cargo and then Mt Rosa... All were different and gorgeous... Picked up from Mt Rosa at end of
Fantastic. One of the highlights of our whole trip. Lovely, helpful, friendly staff. Bikes were awesome. Scenery was incredible. Friendly alpacas on route, that you can hand feed, were a delightful bonus. Lunch at vineyard. Perfect day. Recommend.
We hired electric bikes from the Hilton office and cycled to Arrowtown - the bikes are brilliant, it was a beautiful day out and we had a lot of fun on the trails. Amy at the Hilton office was delightful and very helpful! Cannot recommend enough!
Absolutely not! Both of our shops are located conveniently on the trails. The Queenstown trail network is 130km long connecting Queenstown, Kelvin Peninsula, Lake Hayes, Arrowtown, and the Gibbston Wine Region. There are only a few very short sections along sealed back-country and farm roads, however these are very quiet, rural areas with virtually no traffic.
$25 per person, with a minimum of two people.
We are very flexible with our shuttles. You do not have to book them - you can even ring to organize one while you're out on the trail! If you think you might want one, just let us know at check-in.
If you know you will want one, you can book it alongside your bike - just look for the transfers option to add on at the checkout.
As our rides are not guided, we have included trail support so if you happen to have any issues out on the trails for example a puncture, we are only a phone call away.
