Discover the hidden gem that is the countryside trail connecting Queenstown and Arrowtown. Collect your bikes from our Queenstown Base at the Hilton Jetty and begin your ride by cruising along the waters edge of Lake Wakatipu. The trail then meanders over two historic bridges and through green pastures. Along the way, you’ll have the option to detour to visit Lake Hayes.
After a couple of hours of leisurely riding, you’ll find yourself in Arrowtown, a romantic village with lots of character and deep history in gold mining. You’ll have plenty of time to immerse yourself in the town life and have a bite to eat. You can then ride back to the Hilton Jetty shop by 5pm when we close.
Absolutely not! Both of our shops are located conveniently on the trails. The Queenstown trail network is 130km long connecting Queenstown, Kelvin Peninsula, Lake Hayes, Arrowtown, and the Gibbston Wine Region. There are only a few very short sections along sealed back-country and farm roads, however these are very quiet, rural areas with virtually no traffic.
$25 per person, with a minimum of two people.
We are very flexible with our shuttles. You do not have to book them – you can even ring to organize one while you’re out on the trail! If you think you might want one, just let us know at check-in.
If you know you will want one, you can book it alongside your bike – just look for the transfers option to add on at the checkout.
As our rides are not guided, we have included trail support so if you happen to have any issues out on the trails for example a puncture, we are only a phone call away.
We are based here at Dudley’s Cottage and our neighbours at The Dishery certainly know how to make a good coffee. This is a great spot for a light breakfast or lunch, gold panning and souvenirs made in NZ.
Without a doubt our favourite burgers are made here. We recommend the Jack ‘n’ Yack (secret burger not on the menu) and smashed potatoes.
