This is our most popular ride by far - and with good reason! The trail starts in Arrowtown at our Dudley's cottage base. You'll meander down the Arrow River, crossing back and forth as the shallow river morphs into a deep gorge. Every part of this ride is iconic, with grand views and impressive structures (an 80-meter swing bridge!).
On this trail, the ride is only half the fun as your destination is the famous Gibbston Wine Region. Stop for a tasting at any one of the amazing wineries and maybe complement with a meal prepared from delicious local produce. Relax at these beautiful places as you take in the scenery - you've earned it! Cruise back when you're ready, or our shuttle service is only a phone call away.
This has never been an issue as everyone is just out to enjoy the ride and sample a wine or two. But the short of it is YES. If you are riding dangerously you can be charged. So if riding back after a couple wine tastings isn’t something you’re up for, we have a great return shuttle service.
$25 per person, with a minimum of two people.
The Family Rate is $80 (for up to 2 adults and 3 kids).
We are very flexible with our shuttles. You do not have to book them - you can even ring to organize one while you're out on the trail! If you think you might want one, just let us know at check-in.
If you know you will want one, you can book it alongside your bike - just look for the transfers option to add on at the checkout.
As our rides are not guided, we have included trail support so if you happen to have any issues out on the trails for example a puncture, we are only a phone call away.
Without a doubt our favourite burgers are made here. We recommend the Jack 'n' Yack (secret burger not on the menu) and smashed potatoes.
Enjoy a great coffee or Bloody Mary and an amazing breakfast before you head out on the trails.
Great spot for a slightly more formal sit-down restaurant option. We recommend having tastings at your table, a bit more personalised. It pays to book here during the summer season as it can get quite busy.
Great spot for lovers of cheese. Enjoy a platter of cheese with wine tasting to match.
Awesome wine and great staff. The winery specialises in Pinot Noirs but also produces Pinot Gris, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. Our favourite wine here is the 2014 Pinot Noir.
Probably our favourite family spot for a relaxed lunch. No bookings needed. The wood fired pizza, craft beers and wines go down a treat.
Kinross is the must visit location for lovers of great Pinot Noir. They are the official Cellar Door for 5 local boutique wineries. Our favourite Pinot Noir is here, it’s called Wild Irishman. Their Bistro serves fresh, healthy food using seasonal produce. Enjoy a hearty or light lunch, sharing platters or something from the snack menu.
This is a beautiful spot to sit up above the Valley while you enjoy great views, great wine and great service. Platters available.
Great wines and relaxed atmosphere. Maybe play a bit of petanque while enjoying a glass of wine and cheese board.
Cargo at Waitiri is a wonderful location for the whole family with a huge outdoor grassed area to enjoy the atmosphere or let the kids run around and play
They offer their local brewed Beer and Wine tastings along with a menu of delicious cuisine to choose from.
